Virtual A&S Post
This month has been somewhat productive.
I finished 3d printing and weighting tama for my takadai.
I developed a bit of a braiding curriculum to work my way up to nimai kōrai gumi (2 layer 2x2 oblique twill (typically) pickup braids)
Then started and finished a first takadai braid. It was a one layer twill braid (3x3 oblique twill), in some 2/8 weaving cotton Runa had lying around and wasn’t going to use for anything.
Then I warped, setup and started my second takadai braid. A one layer 2x2 oblique twill with an edge border and centre twining stripe in a gold and red 2/8 bamboo.
The next braid that I will be braiding will either be a second braid matching this one or a first attempt at a two layer braid.
In addition to that I have been doing a literature review for a paper that I intend to write this month.
And as before, I am looking into understanding Japanese martial pedagogy, and looking for ways to apply it to SCA classes.
And playing with my understanding of Kenjutsu and trying to fine tune my understanding for application against weapons of western proportions.
